Roanoke Valley Devo Mountain Bike Team is a community-based, volunteer run team with a mission to use cycling to teach the importance of teamwork, goal-setting, and fostering a healthy lifestyle—in a supportive, fun, and safe environment. We believe cycling has the power to strengthen minds and bodies while promoting a sense of community.
Our goal is to help children of various ages realize their potential through cycling. We bring together kids from ages 9 to 18 with coaches who use biking as a vehicle to teach the importance of teamwork, goal-setting, and fostering a healthy lifestyle -- all while having fun in a constructive environment. In weekly sessions during the team season, coaches and team members ride together at local trail networks and focus on improving fitness and skills, as well as participating in team-building activities. We will provide a National Interscholastic Cycling Association level of coaching for the team. Roanoke Valley Devo includes young riders who may not otherwise be able to participate in the awesome sport of mountain biking. Our generous sponsors give us the ability to include kids that may not otherwise be able to participate. |
